Prof. David Kandiah

Professor David Kandiah is a highly experienced Consultant Physician and Rheumatologist, with over 40 years of clinical, academic, and research expertise in rheumatology, immunology, and internal medicine.

He graduated with Honours from the University of Sheffield (UK), receiving the prestigious West Riding Panel Practitioners Prize in Clinical Medicine and University Medal. He holds specialist qualifications across Australia, the United Kingdom, and Singapore, reflecting his international expertise in managing complex medical conditions.

He trained in well regarded institutions – Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield Children’s Hospital, University Hospital of Wales Cardiff, Bristol Royal Infirmary and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

His clinical focus is on rheumatology and immunology conditions, including autoimmune diseases, inflammatory arthritis, and complex multisystem disorders. He is particularly recognised for his work in translational medicine, bridging advanced research with practical patient care.

Professor Kandiah provides a specialist rheumo-immunology service in Sydney and here on the Gold Coast, supporting patients with accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment plans, and long-term management of chronic conditions.

He has also delivered telehealth rheumatology services across rural and regional Australia, improving access to specialist care for patients with complex rheumatic diseases.
